Born 1728. Died 14th July. 1808. Aged. 80. Years. He made his fortune in manufacturing Cast Iron items and Investments in Welsh copper mines and Banks .[This was to service the tokens he issued to his workers.]
One of his inventions made in, 1774 was a Technique of boring Cannon barrels, the technique involved fixing the Boring Bar and Rotating the barrel Casting, This produced a more accurate barrel and made them less prone to Exploding. With this Boring machine he was able to bore the Cylinders of Boulton and Watts First commercial Steam Engine, and won the Contract for the provision of Cylinders.
He also invented the Hydraulic Blowing Engine in, 1757,for Blast furnaces, for improved air flow and fuel efficiency : He also Built The First Iron Barge at, Broseley in 1787, this type of Barge is still in use today in one form or another.
